Last weekend I spent many hours sitting in various trees. The birds made the hours more enjoyable. Yellor-rumped Warblers and Bluebirds are finding plenty of Poison Ivy berries and were frequent visitors. Rusty Blackbirds, Robins, Sandhills, Great Blue Herons were unusually numerous in light of the ice covered waters.
At our feeders we have had a few Siskins and Red Breasted Nuthatches along with good numbers of Purple Finches.

At abt 1500hrs. 11/6/08, made a quick trip through Blackhawk Park. Never have I seen such a concentration! Could not begin to count, for they were scattered through the high side of the park. And such a sound! Tomorrow's lift-off could be quite a spectacle....
